Lay up heaters/dehumidifiers - what are you using?

All very sensible of course if you have power.......
The majority of boaters in UK will probably, empty all lockers of soft bedding and any other materials not needed for for those winter expeditions.
They will crack open any vents and windows not likely to allow wind driven rain to gain access to interior of boat.
They will also prop open all cupboard doors and lockers where practical.
The really keen will probably lift interior seating cushions to assist ventilation and lift the odd floor hatch or two to encourage a good flow of air through bilges.
They will wedge the fridge door open.
They will enjoy the extra 5 knots gained on winter trips out due to all the junk being culled from boat.

I’d agree that it’s not comfy to kneel on. But there is enough space around and above the engines so that this doesn’t happen on a day to day basis. Another option is to sit on it, with feet on the lower section of checkerboard. This leaves you with a backside resembling a baboon that has sat on a waffle iron.
Definitely best without pictures David. :)
