Well,
Morgana has no sense of adventure as his company vehicle isn't one of these.

Which means our planned tour of the Southern Dominions has been postponed due to a bit of white stuff.

Pah.

Still, things looking up, I have volunteered a blagged ride on Duelins boat, lets see what happens there.

Another example of East Coast Sailors who just get on with it v's South Coast Yachties. Why does a bit of snow stop everything. Have a good sail. Had hoped to antifoul this weekend but think the paint might end up freeze drying on the boat!

Objection, yer honour.

The South Coast contingent were all ready to go, and packing their thermals, when we received an avalanche of emails from Oop North-east, complaining about 1/2 inch of snow on the roads and asking if we could re-schedule for mid July.

I am still planning to be out on the tranquil waters of the Solent tomorrow with one of my trusty comrades. He needs someone to steer for him, as his height may lead to visibility problems, given the current low cloud base.

I believe Ollie was still up for it but, being an Essex Boy, he's practically a Southerner anyway.

Objection overruled.

There will be no avalanches from this 'North East' contingent for two reasons.

1] I am not in the bloody North East. If I was, i'd talk funny like. A bit like what that CPD fella doesn't dunny. Topper.

2] There is no land within approx 40 miles that is more than 7cm elevated above my current position. Therefore avalanches are rare.

So,on that subject, i'll leave you to worry about the dwindling supplies of Foie Gras in the local Waitrose.

What shall I eat now?

Tell me you're joking - it can't be true

[/ QUOTE ] True, I'm afraid but - worst of all - I can't even get to Waitrose in the first place, to do a bit of panic-buying. It was never like this when I lived in Waltham Abbey.

I estimate Morgana Towers to be on a bearing of approximately 45 deg. from central Southern England. That's what I call North East /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif.

Must be hell trying to get past all those Range Rover Sports, BMW X5's and Volvo XC90's..... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

On the basis of your geographic assertions, I make it then that you live in the South West from my vantage point....

So that'll be a pastie oi'll be wanting me luvver..... an be watchin fer all them grockles.....

Well, much as I like to defend my poor mates north of Watford, I dont think it matters.
If you are North of Watford, you just have the blanket soubriquet applied reagardless.
He is from Oop Norf and no doubt keeps Whippets and has clogs that spark on t' cobbles on the way t' pit. Bet he knows the words to Ilkley Moor Bar T'at too.

Netto is the new Waitrose. Oop Norf, of course.

Geography was never my strong point. And I did say "approximately". /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

You haven't experienced Grockle overload until you've tried to get into the centre of Winchester in July.
