Whilst the UK is being battered by strong winds and rain, I have spent the last 5 weeks on the boat in Spain.
Yesterday, we went up to the town viewing area and I took some photos.
I've posted them here - some people might find them interesting.

This is a panorama of the whole town and port from the Montsia viewing area.
The Montsia is the mountain that overshadows Sant Carles - the viewing area is on the lower slopes of the Montsia.

The town's fishing port can be seen in this photo - over 100 fishing boats land their catches here

Sant Carles is located within the River Ebro's Delta.
Low lying areas are deliberately flooded (controlled) to create paddy fields - perfect for growing rice for Spanish Paella.

This photo shows the location of Sant Carles Marina in relation to the town.
It also shows the vast lagoon that we have right outside our marina entrance - 7 miles long, 1 mile wide and 6m deep - perfect for anchoring.
The long structures outside the marina are mussel and oyster beds.

Just thought it might be interesting for those who don't know SCM to see some up to date photos

Hi
I could have been in San Carlos as well, but I never got a reply to my direct mail.... Meantime bought another (med based) boat and am waiting for the seatrial to take place.
Usually I have been cruising Northsea / Baltic area, and as many probably know two weeks ago there was a storm over southern Baltic with extreme damages to boats and marines in Germany and Denmark. Pantaenius say that in Germany abt 2000 boats have been damaged, More than 200 boats sunk and unknown number of total losses. I have no figure from Denmark. Several Marinas have been totally or partly destroyed. I visited some of the marinas I used to call frequently and I can only be happy having sold my boat as it could have been involved as well. Who has an interested you has several videos available.

We have just spent a few days originally planned to go through the winter maintenance schedule. Weather was so good we went out for a few nights. For those who know the area, in the season it is impossible and unwise to try to go back on the town quay in Fiskardo. Yesterday not too bad :). Plus I believe we were the last people to eat in the last restaurant to close down for the year o one around. Absolute bliss. IMG_5993.jpeg
