Thanks for the comments guys. I sometimes wonder whether it's worth the effort of putting a series of photos on. But on balance, I guess it is!![]()
Great set of pics, well worth sharing

Don't you just love photo story threads like this. Fab photos.
Good post Phil, as usual you tell the story, paint the picture and show us the proof!
Always good to see one of your well documented posts, almost like a storyboard, did you ever work in the film industry?
Tell James he is putting weight on! Well maybe it is you camera, but he looks a few pounds heavier than last I saw him.

p.s. How come no photos of Liz? Has she gone shy again![]()
Phil where the heck is Dinas?
I have walked and sailed the area for a few years but have a complete mental block. Any other names? waypoint?
Love the piccy story and good on you and Liz for posting interesting pics without the need for including the usual boring wake shot.

I wondered that too, I think it is the rocky outcrops just N of Llandwyn and past Maltraeth. Few roads down to it & most of us just blast (err relatively speaking in a raggie) past up to Holyhead or Rhosneigr if the weather is acceptable - tho with SW'lies most of that area is far too dodgy even for BBQ's a lot of the time.
The picture at anchor prior to departure was clearly taken after you had taken down the anchor day time black ball ;-)
Well spotted, strangely enough, everyone had taken their anchor ball down by thenI also noticed most of them had turned their mooring lights off before I got up!
I'm thinking of a spray tan![]()
WTF is that about? Is there a marina there now with no electricity? Most people only use a white all round when ANCHORED.
Must have been well settled if you anchored overnight. You're potentially a long way from shelter if it goes pear-shaped & you can't cross the bar. I've only ever had suitable conditions once & I anchored amongst the rocks at Rhosneigr.
Mooring light, anchor light, pedantry is alive and well then
It was well settled. We knew it would be, listened to the forecast see innit
I think Rhosneiger is a bit different cos the swell can get yer there, but tucked behind the sticky out rocky bit at Dinas you're sheltered from it.
Now that's a trip that I'll be doing on Topaz when I have bit more exp. Great post and great pics - looks like a good time was had by all.
Ah, I know who it is now.
Probably do a trip together if you fancy sometime.
Dont listen to him, he'll lead you astray and raid your fun box. Trust me I know
