If we are going for a sports cruiser, can you belt them along at 25 knots with the windscreen canopies on? Do they let much water in like my old sports cat soft top? Im thinking of spray and rain.

Yes./forums/images/icons/smile.gif you can cruise at 25kn with covers up its a lot warmer in the winter. Some leak but normally due to old covers. In heavey seas with a lot of water coming over the front, visabilty can be bad, No wipers on canopies./forums/images/icons/frown.gif

Yes you can provided they are in OK condition. A couple of Sundays ago I was bashing into an Eastern Solent chop and there was alot of water over the top. A bit came through in a couple of places but the cockpit of most sports cruisers will be self draining anyway so it finds its way out.

In fact one of the benefits of a sports cruiser as I see it is the ability to run with the covers over. You still feel like you are outside (which for me is the whole point) but you and your driving area stay nice and dry !
