Larson 240 cabrio (2006)

Hi QBhoy,
Thanks very much for your input. Great post.
If the info on the mpi merc is sound then the swingometer has moved back towards petrol, which pleases me. Even with my ltd knowledge I understand that the servicing, repairs maintenance on a petrol is much cheaper. And as you say they are lighter too.
Now for some real novice stuff. Can you tell me what 'risers' are. The manifolds I take it are the exhaust manifolds. Also I have heard that it is possible to convert the merc engine to a fresh water cooling if you have your boat in salt water.
I'm a few £ short for this boat at the moment so I will probably end up missing out on it but I will keep my eye out for the 5.0 mpi engine in my future searches.
Regards
HG

Hi Graham,
when I eventually buy my first boat, I'm quite sure we are going to have it on the river (Great Ouse) for the first year. I'm hoping that petrol is more readily available, But doing slow speeds on the river filling up for a day will be a fraction of what one would use tearing around the ocean. So carrying jerry cans won't be such an issue for me, But I know exactly what you mean. Its all about pleasure, and inconvenience always cuts into the pleasure.
