This year, I'm hoping to "invest" in a tender with an outboard but dont really want to buy on line, Id rather have the fam physically sit in it while I'm playing with the tiller to get a feel for the size. Force 4 are a great outlet but is there one gigantic store that has everything, south coast preferably?

If there is there will be inflated prices. With Elvis singing Love me Tender.

Haven’t looked specifically for tenders but Marine Superstore at Port Solent is likely the biggest place in the Solent area
Even their space is small. We bought our 3D tender there but looking for a replacement a good look at a wide selection at the Southampton show in Sept then today at BOOT Dusseldorf nailed it down to an AB Lammina ALS.

Good choice! We have had one for years and it is an excellent piece of kit.
.
I learned they are now made in Columbia. We're visiting Cartagena in March but on a cruise ship.

A question, are they easy enough to bring up onto a foredeck? We have an electric winch on the spin halyard.

Otherwise we're thinking of fitting davits.

Ours is just over 3m in length and whilst they are relatively light in weight they are still really a two man lift. A halyard on a winch may well be okay but davits would probably be the better option. Ours is on davits

If desperate to research I would go to SIBS and speak to a few firms -if budget permits a Highfield seem to be used by many in WI or get an AB - it really turns on you budget though and how you plan to store on board -telescopic davits and a dinghy with hard aluminium floor and central steering by Highfield will be more than expected . We bought our quicksilver as it was what the chandlery on the Thames stocked -it could do with larger tubes such as found on Zodiac but at time with a new boat budget was tight however it’s lasted well to date since 2001.
