There was a large training yacht on the visitors berth this afternoon probably 70 ft plus. No idea where its from or any thing else.Seemed to be crewed by a large number of youngsters.

Apparently there next port of call is Porlock weir. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

seems summers arrived for a few days at least /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif.

What the swans?

Very shiny, though. I reckon the sail cover is worth more than Ishtar.

Good news about the weather though. High pressure, and nice tides this weekend. Pity the boat's out. Still, should get a dive or two in.

Graham, I think this is one of the Business Challenge yachts which was bought by a charity based in Swansea a few months ago to let youngsters get a taste for sailing etc. It was on the outer fuel berth at Swansea Marina when I set off for Cardiff the other Friday, and had gone when I came back on the Sunday.

If I'm right, its about 70ft long, and has been around the world at least once! It's a shame that the challenge thing went bust, as it gave lots of people the chance to do some trans-ocean sailing, but I think the costs for a company to sponsor a boat were just too much to be viable. The whole fleet was put up for sale last year, and various organisations have bought them. They used to be based at Plymouth Yacht Haven, and the trainee crews would be in the pubs roundabout at the weekend.
