Laptop 12v Adaptor

You can buy an adapter from a lot of places. However there are different adapters required for older laptops, than thiose required for the newer ones. I have one suitable for my old machine, but it wont touch the newer one which needs 3x the power. I also had to pay a small fortune in plug in ends to find the correct one for my laptop.

Since then I have found a more knowledgeable source <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.laptopshop.co.uk/laptop-car-adapters.htm>here</A>

I'm repeating myself. But in case you didn't see previous posts; be very careful not to have it on the same circuit as your engine start. Or if this is unavoidable, as with mine, unplug the device before starting the engine.

As long as you don;'t have such strange ones as Twinheads etc. - the Maplin one was the cheapest and best I could find ... after trawling a lot on the net.

We use them for work in the Inspectors cars for doing reports - excellent and worth every penny. Just have to now find a 12V adaptor without invertior for the printers now. Battery printers fail before we complete our job .... tried them, got the t-shirt !! But we still use the printers but run from invertors .... 100 - 150W jobs ..... what printers ? Canon BJC85's ...... sad but difficult to find now .... new replacement is c....p and nowhere near as good as the 85 .....
