I have a similar problem on a raggie, so I bought a Slap Silencer (effective a long inflatable tube with holes through to allow trapped air to escape). I would say it solves the problem about 70% of the time. The other 30% is either due to the waves being to big, or me not setting it properly cause I did it in a rush in the dark.

I bought it from Fairclip Yachting on 01932 862984.

Turn the boat round so the waves are lapping the stern. Never fails to stop it. Works a treat on swinging moorings as well.

Sometimes it\'s the fish!!

Yes, honestly! In most harbours live some big Grey Mullet and they like to eat the small seaweed strands that grow on the hull of your boat at the waterline. So in the early morning when you here a schloop - schloop sound, likely it will be Grey Mullet.

Betcha didn't know that /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Flying tonight ??

Amazing Dave !! The "Glouceter Old Spot" can't fly down here - you must have a very special breed up your way /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Anyway built the "boom" and by golly it works !!!! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif Well sort of - I think I need a few more bits of pipe insulation to extend further round the boat but damn fine solution - Cheers /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
