I find myself in Lanzarote, land based, with a significant other and her 7yr old. I fancy going sailing for a day - any recommendations? Skippered or bare.

Hiya. Several choices.

From Puerto Calero, try Boat Trips Lanzarote | Yacht Charter | LanzaYachting

Trips on Papagayo Catamaran are generally very popular. I usedy to part time skipper this when she was based in Rubicon. Worth a ring and chat to them. Very good.

Also there is Catlanza who run the big catamarans on four hour group charters twice a day.

There are several fishing charters who advertise in the marina but mebbe not for 7 yo.

The yellow submarine is pricey but kids love it.

From Carmen, just nip down the port and there are a few tourist trips on vessels ( various).

In Rubicon, in front of Lanis Canteen, pier D is a small charter biz that does electric boats, no licence. Very popular. The only bareboat you will get!

Most hotels have flyers about these. The bigger businesses organise coach pickups to Calero too.

Gonna be hot over the next few days and poor visibility from calima haze. OK for boats though and a good way to cool down.....could hit 34c inland.

Hope you find something. (y)

We had a guy who spent a day crewing with us when we were doing our DS with Endeavour Sailing out of Puerto Calero. His missus was happy to lounge by the pool but he was wanting more sailing time before doing his own DS later in the year!
