In Pursuit of doing something in the winter months we travelled to what is known as the Viewing Point near Languard Fort and Felixstowe Docks. It was at low water but you can see from the Ariel video that this makes little difference as the deep water channel is always usable obviously for the many container ships and other vessels that use the Port.

I even did a little bit fishing that did not please poppy. Local boat owners will know this area well but this might prove useful to any of you that plan to visit the River Orwell

I have anchored here and fished. This is where the ferry stops. If you check your sat nav you will find you are 75 meters from the deep water channel so are not a hazard. It is 2-3 meters depth at LW and good holding. I went into the cafe and also filled some water bottles

Did you manage to catch anything. I drew a total blank fish wise as is usual for me:(
