Hi,
Hoping someone who has done this in a +2m draft boat and can advise.
We draw 2.2m, and most pilots suggest 'around 2m' is max draft.
As we've got to come back from Kiel to Solent end August, it would be nice to know the inland route might be an option in adverse head winds, or indeed what parts of that route might be possible.
Thanks in anticipation.

I did this last year from Defzijl with a two meter draught. The charted depth for parts of the route between Defzijl and Leeuwarden is 1.9 metres, but we managed as the water is a little deeper than charted and you can check the actual depths at the time, although I don't think 2.2 would be possible for that section. The Dutch standing mast route publication give charts showing all depths and also the opening times of locks and bridges. Get a copy of this and it shows you all you need to know. Once past Leeuwarden you will be fine to go all the way to Vlissinger.
