Hi
In PBO Dec 06 'Practical Projects' there is an article in which the author uses laminate sheet as a lineing in the heads of his yacht. Any idea of suppliers of the material as 'googling' for laminates end up at flooring and melamine gives melamine faced chipboard rather than just thin sheets.

Formica...

Formica is the main (only?) maker of this sheet in the UK. There's a vast range of patterns/textures, and most builders merchants will order it for you. I used it at home to line an ensuite shower cubicle and it's still fine some 15 years later. To cut it successfully, you really need a special laminate "nibbler". One word of warning, ensure lots of ventilation when you're using contact adhesive on big pieces!

We used 3mm thick white plastic sheet to line our heads compartment with.
This is a very adaptable material with loads of uses on board
It is available from suppliers who sell conservatory roofs gutterings etc.
This will need to be a specialist supplier of soffits facings etc.
We got ours from "The Daylight Centre" in Kenilworth.
The stuff is very easy to cut with a stanley knife and is flexible unlike formica.
It comes in 8' X 4' sheets and is about £30 per sheet.
We used copidex as the adhesive
Another useful material is the fire surround/back sheets sold by B&Q which we used for the worktop and splashback at about £28 for an approx 3'x3' sheet.

A nice job if I might say so Sir! Im contemplating doing the same thing to my heads compartment but am running scared. I have found the link to Robbins excellent and think their flexible laminate might be just the job, and the price is good as well, but can I ask, what material did you use for your edging and where can it be purchased? The combined effect looks great...
