Put away yer flags,
No more cheering for the lads,
Close down the terrace
and put on a brave face.

There'll be no more calls
For England to rise again
'Cos the brilliant Wayne
stood on a Portugeses's balls

I was at my brother-in-laws in Pooley Bridge (Ullswater) Their garden is next to a pub which runs down to the river Eamont.
All afternoon there were raucous shouts and chants from the pub garden where they were all watching the game. Couldn't hear ourselves think.

Curiosity got the better and we put on the telly for the penalty thingy. At the last penalty I went out to the garden.
Silence.

All I could hear was the birds twittering in the woods across the river.

It'll be OK for the next 4 years then?

I don't think theres any danger for the next 44 years. A bunch of talented individuals under-perform. The management appears to have no plan. Let's select a 16 year old striker and never play him.
So we assume Sven's deputy had all the answers, kept quiet, and now he's the manager, is going to transform the team.
Yeah right. Please I hope I'm wrong....
