Saw a lovely wooden river day boat at Henley on Saturday. It's name was L'Amazon. Does anyone know anything about her? She was strip plank construction with an expoxy finish and four cane seats in a two plus two arrangement then aft a single bench seat. Wish I had taken a photo to be more helpful.

Thanks! I have just asked my friend mr google and he comes up with the same. More evidence to try and get my wife to move down south. That plus our beloved Orpheus and a nice wee house could swing things. Then again she would need a job as well.....

Mind you she says if I was a proper husband she wouldn't have to work.

All very nice, but it would mean paying for prescriptions and no free university education for any offspring.

On the plus side you would not have to listen to speeches by Mr Potato Head.....

Young enough that prescriptions isn't my No 1 concern and with no children neither is free university.

Still you seem to want to make a point. Do you read the Daily Mail?

Until last night I never knew what a Slipper boat was and now that I do my world is a better place.

No, Daily Telegraph....

Have to agree that Slipper launches are very pretty, ideally with electric propulsion so that you can really enjoy the sounds of the river.
