We are currently enjoying the start of a week on the shores of Lake Annecy, staying in the Talloires area.
Very nice it is too!
The sun is out and people are out on the water, enjoying wakeboarding, kayaking, sailing, swimming, etc.

So can anyone suggest somewhere on the lake where my wife and I can hire a dinghy or small keelboat (say up to 20ft?) for a 1/2 day or so?
Or is anyone on the forum in the area and willing to take a couple out for a half day, just to say" we've sailed on Lake Annecy"

Internet searches aren't turning much up at all, so any assistance gratefully received!

On a slight thread drift, Lake Annecy is about 30% smaller than Lake Windermere. So how comes the French can still use the lake for boats exceeding 10Kts? There seems to be no issues with bank erosion, the eco system is working fine and all the water users are getting on fine? Perhaps the UK could learn a lot from the way the French run and maintain such places?

There is a port de plaisance with sailing school just to the south west of a annecy that might have something to hire. Just next to the old hospital complex and within walking distance of the town.

Hmm tried a couple of these and have had no luck. Such a shame as its so beautiful here and the conditions are ideal for sailing!!
There are so many boats moored up and unused surely someone wants to earn some beer money!!

It was a few years ago now, but I hired a Hobie cat or something similar at Talloires
