Are there any pros or cons of taking a boat that has been used in a lake only in the summer and wintered inside a building and shoving it in the sea 360 days a year?

Dom

I just want my boat back in the water ;-(

think the anodes should be changed to zinc from magnesium, as the er metal um replacement um summink from chemistry o-level is diffrent for brine insted of freshwater.

I wd say lake/dry land will keep boat in better condition than sea with wetter air etc. Best of all keep the boat on dry land permanently but defeats the object. No hydraulicing tho? ooh ouch, how horrid I am , sorry dom.

Actually the boat is in worse condition on dry land than it ha ever been at sea.

TCM right about changing the anodes, Magnesium would last only 3-4 weeks insalt water. Other thing is
(and this happened to me) take plenty of filters as the tanks will have built up lots of scuz from the placid
conditions and which will come up once..., hang on I'm telling the Soltron man ?

This is just what I have done . It has involved loads of work! Lots of things different - like (just a simple example) the batteries and gas bottles not being secured sufficiently for at sea, interior fittings such as doors etc the same (galley doors had magnetic catches - useless when the boat heels) - and on and on...
was surprising just how much there was to do actualy (of course thats alway the way). Anodes changed, but that had to be done anyway as the guy before me had painted them over!!!!

Did just that 4 yr ago. Make sure antifoul is correct for sea use and as has been mentioned, check anode matl. Presume yours is diesel, but if not, install fresh water cooling BEFORE you drop it into salt solution.

Geography o level question

Scuse my hignorance, but does Gsy have any lakes? Cannot imagine someone lake-crawling in Gsy when there's fabulous sea all around about a mile away!
