IBI News and the Daily Telegraph are reporting that L Capital 2FCPR have bought Princess Yachts International for £200m.

The Consortium is sponsored by LVMH Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessey.

So will Princess motor boats in the future all be a buff colour with fine stripes and little LV logos all over ?

Good for Princess, methinks, although quite how getting involved in manufacturing huge lumps of oil derived plastic containing vast gas guzzling engines reconciles with LVMH's corporate commitment on saving the planet

Energy use is at the heart of environmental problems and sustainable development. Burning fossil fuels in boilers, engines, for heating, light or transport entails extracting resources that are becoming rarer, causes local pollution, and emits greenhouse gases that threaten the climate balance of the planet. Saving energy and using it efficiently are global challenges.

I dunno. Usual corporate green bullshit I guess

Err except maybe when we come to sell some of our overpriced crap to people to blind to see value and short sighted enough only to see logos (Corporate edit from CEO)

Most such mission or corporate statements and just complete bullshit.
