Just returned home from the first trip out on the new boat. The Sortie was under the tutorial control of Kawasaki, headed out of the Conwy estuary, over Dutchmans bank through the straights to Caernarfon called in at PD, went through the Swellies a couple of times even took the southerly swellies route (without hitting anything), then back to Deganwy for as Kwackers puts it "pontoon Bashing". Had a fantastic day and if anyone thinks "its the boat not me" have a lesson

I drove down the A55 today to Anglesey and looking out to sea from penmaenmawr it looked a lovely day for sailing. It did look very busy out there aswell. Sounds like you had a good day.

It's the Straits Regatta week coming up & Conway River Festival. Loads of classic one design day sailer racing, cruiser races & general fun & games. That's why it is getting busy.

Through the Swellies with Kwackers is an experience most people don't forget in a hurry. Come to think of it, anything involving Kwackers seems to stick in the mind! Both Liz and I did PB2 with K, is that the course you were on? Most folk tend to do PB2 on a training boat so's not to damage their own!!

No not PB2, I have had boats before, however, I never had any close quarters handling training and I also wanted to have some pilotage help. I had a great day and came away educated and entertained, in fact I went down on Sunday and used the boat, I got on and off the pontoon plus refueled without being the marina entertainment. I see your looking for another boat, have you found anything.

Keep it going then, we will have to make a comment every day to keep it near the top and current, perhaps we need to agree a rota or watch to ensure it does not fade away.
