KVH Tracphone - another attempt

I have 'inherited' a KVH Tracphone 25 with my new boat.

I know it's not the current model but I understand these are/were pretty pricey when new but have no idea of the second hand value. Any ideas?

Also, is there any way of checking that the thing actually works as I wouldn't want to sell it if it was a dud (honest guv!)

Is it a Tracphone 252? I know you put down 25 but...could have been an omission!
The 252 retails for between $3,800 to $4,200 (approx £1,900 to £2,150)
If you are looking to sell it......I could be interested (if it's a 252!)
