I was given a Kuuma BBQ which uses Campinggaz bottles. It would seem more sensible running it from the spare propane bottle I keep in the cockpit. Anyone done this?
From what I can see it means replacing the regulator with one of these Kuuma Low-Pressure Valve Kit - 3/8 SAE x 12,000 BTU Quick Connect [58269] and supplying it with gas from a regulator on the propane bottle. I can't find an alternative from a UK supplier.

The existing regulator fits directly into the BBQ using a dodgy looking bayonet connection and the CG bottle fits to the underside.

I don't know your BBQ but I have run my Cadac on Camping Gaz, Calor butane, Calor propane, Repsol propane and Autogas, each with their appropriate regulator. In some cases through a fixed bulkhead regulator, in others with bottle mounted ones. I don't understand what the kit in your link provides, other than the quick release coupling, which is worth having but not essential.

You dont say what model but they normally seem to require a high pressure propane supply.

Some models ( with a 6 digit model number ) can be converted to run on a low pressure propane supply. by replacing the existing regulator with the supplied 3/8" male flare fitting

You dont say if you intend using a low pressure supply ( via a separate regulator) or connecting directly to your spare propane bottle .

I am unsure what the kit in you link is for ! Maybe one of the items is the 3/8" flare fitting ????

The model is a 160 grill. The link I put up earlier is a flow control with three different positions which replaces the original regulator, I think the supply is then taken from the propane regulator.
This is the original regulator that the campinggaz bottle attaches directly to

I was thinking of using an adjustable regulator on the propane bottle to give the different flame heights but thought it would be easier incorporating some kind of three position flow control instead.
I have seen a warning not to double regulate.
