bit the bullet, and also signed up. Well worth the money as I've already watched just about all of them in the little window, so now can watch them properly.

interesting psychology

bit the bullet, and also signed up. Well worth the money as I've already watched just about all of them in the little window, so now can watch them properly.

when I started out doing this Jill, my much more intelligent than me wife, asked if I had ever bought video films to download on-line.

Nope,

I have paid for music to download but never video

and I would guess most sailors would react the same way

but its my best that if I spent enought time watching stuff in a tiny window eventually, maybe two hiurs for one person, maybe ten hours for another eventually decide to stump up to watch it in a full window.

the sad thing is that the video gets compressed along with the pictures - so it sounds as though I have a lisp

I will let you know how it goes.

the free tiny windowa viewing people earned 32 cents yesterday

last time I offered the films this way it was costing me up to $8 a day

so that is great progress

just curious

The little ones are pretty good so have just registered :)
Give me something to watch in the wet weather!

how long did you spend watching them in the tiny windows before you decided that you might just as well watch them in a full screen

subscriptions have dropped to about 150 a month with the end of the winter....and were showing signs of carrying on downwards - although the aussies and kiwis were starting to watch with the end of their season.

I did get an email the other day from a bloke who downloads them and watches them on his ipod on the train on the way to work...

if anyone has spotted some adverts in the films themselves it would be great to know what they are for....and is the server keeping pace....

website hits on the free parts of the site have gone up threefold and the average person spends alm ost 30 minutes

given that lots of people will be short hits that means some people are staying on the site for a long time....

they are available as ntsc

Dylan
Are your DVDs available in NTSC format for the USA? I'm going over there in September and thought about taking a copy of your films as a gift.

the dvds were masterd by Ian French of Tollesbury and also YBW

I have a set of masters at home

I can easliy burn a set

or.... for the same price I have a KTL subscribers who sails on the great Lakes in the States. he is making the American versions and sending them out - so you could get them sent to your friend direct from Illinois.

Up to you

PM me your aoe his address

54 per cent of the page hits on KTL come from the USA

Uk sailors only account for about 30 per cent

not sure what that says about Americans, Brits and my films

I wonder if I would pay

Ah but, yes but, no but, there are 4 times as many Septics as Brits (240m vs 60m approx). On that basis you're doing well out of us.

PM to follow.

I often question whether I would watch my own films if they were in another country

but one thing I have learned from the KTL subscribers is that there are a lot of small boat cruisers in America

I always ask them to tell me where they sail

take a look at the the san juan islands on google earth

the area around Aukland in NZ also looks great

Google earth allows you to see where other people sail

lot of mobos though judging by the wakes in the waterin the popular places

Dylan,

As a very much non Brit the reason so many non brits watch your films is that you are showing a side of the cruising life that very few of us will ever get to see. I know damn well I'll never have a shoal enough draft boat in the UK to visit the places you haunt and Australia simply does not have similar cruising grounds.

Not to mention of course that you possess a modicum of wit and that adds muchly to your vids.

As always, thank you for your efforts.
