kss kelsall build method anyone?

The system has gone through a number of changes over the years, but it is a fairly simple way to build a boat.
The most modern designs have got away from the boxy looks of the arly ones, indeed the system has been around for about 40 years.
The construction is strong and if anything a bit on the heavy side by modern ideas but as it is built by an amatuer no bad thing.
The finish is up to the builder, with care, a beautiful boat can be achieved.
Just remember that it will cost at least ttwice as long as you think and take four times as long to finish.
Have fun.

There has just been a very interesting discussion about this on another forum, which Derek Kelsall joined in. I suggest you take a look at this

If I had the time and place to do this, it would certainly have interested me as a system. I am not so fond of his designs, aesthetically prefering the woods - and the concept of the elongated eclipse due in a year or so is a potential winner. Meanwhile I will work harder to buy a finished and proven vessel.
