It is with much sadness that I have to announce the passing of my father Keith, known here on the forum as "Krusty", or prior to selling his boat, as "Piota."
Barely a month after being diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer dad died, at home, on Wednesday 24th July.
He led a full life, loving his climbing and sailing. He was a very practical man, having designed and built his own yacht, a 28' triamaran which he sailed all around Scotland for over twenty years. Later in life he bought a yacht, spent a lot of effort altering it to his requirements and then used it to run his "North Scotland Sail" sailing school business.
Whilst sailing "Piota" he developed his own riding sail, details of and discussions about which have been around for some time in various threads here.
He will be sorely missed by all his family and hopefully remembered with some affection by many friends.

a genuine, old-fashioned sailor, with many stories and tips to pass on.

Commiserations on your family's loss.

Heartfelt commiserations, your dad led a fuller life than most and he will live on forever in you, your family's and many other people's memory.

Very sorry to hear that; pancreatic cancer doesn't take many hostages unfortunately. I remember taking special note of his riding sail for future reference.

I hope you and the family will be left with good memories of somebody who really seemed to have a zest for sailing and the open-air way of life.

God bless.

I can only say +1 to all of the above... Always a good contributor and I am sorry to hear your news.

Many condolences for your sad loss.

Your dad - through this forum - inspired me and many others, and in his life must have inspired countless more.

Jon
