Konus Tornado binoculars - compass grid moved, any fix ?

Got a set of Konus Tornado binoculars with inbuilt compass. Think also sold as various own brand chandlery binoculars.

Not expensive but worked very well ..... until combined to drop and stand on them

Base binoculars still work OK - but the grid lines and black section which coves the compass reading inside the right hand side has swung 40 degrees out of true, partly blocking the view and making bearings impossible.

Anybody had this problem and fixed it - or indeed knows how to open them up to have a look at fixing. Looks to be near the eyepiece, but not apparent whether this can be removed to access

Yes, I have fixed more than a few bins with this problem.
The grid is on a disc which can be realigned and secured.
The eyepiece assembly and top prism covering plate have
to be removed. Does not normally affect the optical alignment.
The plate will then need to be sealed / water tight again
and the gas replaced.
Likely to cost around £40 plus return postage unless
you can visit my workshop in Hythe, Southampton.

that sounds like the best and cheapest option. DIY is not feasible.
