I need to rig my 32ft motor sailor and want to read about mast and rigging positioning and rig loads and dimensions. There must be a decent book about all the theory but I have searched and cannot find one. Also probably need to buy a rig tensioner device. Any suggestions?

Rigger's Apprentice by Brian Toss. I thought it was v.good.

covers most of your likely questions.
Are you replacing? or starting from scratch? Sounds like the latter from your post.

Forget the tensioner, unless you are racing, which I doubt.

Thanks for all replies, I have ordered Rigger's Apprentice as it is the most up to date and looks like it has a lot of info that I need.

Um, shroud plates into balsa decks might be a bit tricky. Usually tied to bulkheads or to the hull sides. But you seem to have some good sources.
Courage.
