Arrived at Shotley on Friday evening to a fog of smoke blowing over from Parkstone Quay.

Had a run out with another forumite on Saturday, locking through we were told it was 4000 tonnes of Wood Chip.

It seemed to be damped down but rapidly flames could be seen from another area which was then hosed.

The smoke was all pervading fortunately the wind had turned around on Saturday and Harwich bore the brunt, yesterday morning it was blowing back. I reckon it might be a day or two

It was still very active today. You have to wonder why there's a 4000 ton pile of woodchip in Harwich...

Perhaps the storage capacity at Brightlingsea is reached, due to the incessant bad weather preventing the ships loading and taking it away to IKEAland?
