I wonder if any of you chaps and chapesses help me. I bought a spares or repair Kipor IG 2000 sinewave generator. I only bought it for the internals as I wanted to build a 4hp Honda aircooled motor (Don't ask!!)
It was partially stripped. The circuit board was there and connected but 240 v outlet missing and pull cord snapped. As always with these things my monkey on my shoulder persuaded me to see if it runs.
As always first thing I do is check the carb.....the fly at bowl was full of rust!!!.
This actually got me a little excited( not in that way).Blocked carb....broken pull cord......maybe this is why it was put away.
Cleaned the jets , put a new bowl on checked the oil and involved the recoil.
Making sure I was no where near and circuitry ,spun the crank with a drill and it ran perfectly. Not only did it run the green light was lit up on the panel. As the 240v plug attachment was missing and I have no 110v tools I couldn't tell if there was any out put.
My question is....if the green light is lit does that mean everything could be ok?
TIA

I had one of these until recently when it got swamped by a breaker and went tits up... Anyway, the green light indicates there is 240 V on the output from the inverter. Based on this - there is little what can be wrong from this point. You do still can get stuck when you load the inverter. The motor should compensate for the load by increased revs. If it doesn't, the motor regulator may be stuffed - that is what happened to mine...
