Anyone drawing a little over a metre will need to be careful, as the underwater shopping trolley collection has re appeared. Kingston University Scuba club did a great job of clearing up last year. Another trolley or a bicycle on top of that lot and anyone but a NB owner will clock it.
This picture was taken yesterday, at the end of the moorings nearest the bridge.

Inform Waitrose/John Lewis and they will probably recover pdq.

I sent them the picture, but it would be a first if they removed them. This happens every year, a simple magnetic device would prevent them from leaving the car park and going overboard,

The removal of a sunken boat is the responsibility of the owner, I wonder if the same rule applies to shopping trolleys?

Back in 2014 some may remember that I had a very successful exchange with Spelthorne council over a similar problem of trolleys in the water fouling their moorings at Staines.
Councils do have the power to charge penalties to supermarkets allowing trolleys to create a hazard.

My success was, I think, largely down to a little perseverance on Twitter. together with some pressure from EA relating to their licence for the landing stage.

Lidl closed down before the last clean up. Aldi replaced them and annoyingly, they don't have trolleys(only baskets).
I could see a green bar on the handles, the water was exceptionally clear. That rules out the local Sainsbury's and Asda is too far away. They are definitely the property of Waitrose.

Sounds promising(although you'll be lucky to get a space as the usual suspects have been hogging them for weeks).
Ive asked Kingston Council what they're doing with regard to the enforcement period, all I get is 'someone will get back to you'.

Thanks for letting us know that there are Waitrose trolleys where your moored at Kingston Matthew.

All of our branches have collection arrangements for identifying and removing stray trolleys from their local areas. We try to retrieve trolleys as quickly as possible, so they aren't left abandoned where they may deteriorate or become a risk.

I've spoken to the management team at Kingston who've assured me that they'll look into this as soon as possible.

I'm sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Kind regards
