Hi all,

Does anyone have much experience with the dreaded low King John bridge in Tewkesbury?

I have a Jeanneau Merry Fisher 805 and really am 50/50 as to whether or not it will fit under...any advice*?

*I would measure the air draft but my boat won't be arriving until 2 weeks time.

Thanks!

I used to moor a Sunline 31 on the lower pool at Tewkesbury. Had to get under the King John on the Avon to lift at Tewkesbury Marina. It was tight but never too tight. I used to wind warp around the radar arch in case it touched the brickwork, just for reassurance. I’m pretty sure your MF will be ok. Please wait for a calm day. The breeze swirls under the bridge to add to the tension. Check with the lock master. He is very experienced and will give you good advice if you are in doubt.

Thanks for the info rafiki_, my only reservation is that I have just seen from the internet your air draft is 2.77m, does that sound right?
According to the web mine is 3.10m...if yours is tight, would the MF fit under at all?!
