If one wanted to leave a boat for a season in a safe and well-serviced marina/harbour on the west coast of Ireland, which one would you choose?

Kilrush or Galway?

Or others?

Why?

Kilrush. Great marina with very helpful staff. Fully serviced boatyard, etc. Close to Shannon airport.
Galway is a great city and I always enjoy visiting it but I’m not very familiar with the marina or the facilities.
From a cruising point of view, there are limited destinations close to Galway with marina facilities but there are some fabulous spots when the weather is very good.
Kilrush is a day’s cruise to Dingle and fairly accessible to West Cork.

Rossaveal,safe secure ,sheltered.Immediate access to fine cruising grounds,Galway Bay,Aran Islands,Roundstone,Clifden,Inishbofin,Killary and more.
Kilrush, safe and secure ,buton a strong tidal estuary with prevailing westerlies and 60 mile slog to go anywhere.

In 2018, Galway had no toilets or showers - 5 euro at the hotel across the harbour. Trucks tipped scrap metal on the quay next to the marina almost constantly from 8am to 6pm - keep your deck brush handy.
Good security, safe berth and friendly staff in the office. Great city.
