Killer whales play around family boat

Wikipedia says they're not really a threat. Mostly they've gotten hacked off with their keepers, and I can't say I blame them:

All the same, I think I'd be wary.

The main thing the Wikipedia article highlights is that they are unpredictable animals whose attitude to humans can change very quickly. Remember too that the majority of attacks in captivity were with people who knew and trained with the animals concerned, and who presumably knew the risks and were on the look out for potential problems.

Why do I read this as a rebuttal to my short post ?????? as for the threat and not wanting to frighten the customers, there are dozens of boats out each day watching them and as far as I can see they have never caused and damage to boats and or customers.

I have only come across Orca once and that was in Strangford Lough...... the seals on that day were a little agitated and running for the shore, I assume that this Orca (only saw one) wasn't a fish eater. it did however pass the small yacht I was on about 50yards off.

Spectacular sight and I really want to see one again but with the depletion of fish stocks it going to be very unlikely unless of course they only eat seals.

I'm quite convinced, as was a friend who was with me at the time, that three of these beauties stopped us motoring into rocks off Jethou on a foggy day.
