Kids out

100%.
Our club used to hold a day out with similar aims for the Valiant Swimming Club, a great day out, that if nothing else, puts any problems you have in life into perspective.
A rewarding day out for any skipper taking part.

When I was a member of the Royal Cornwall Yacht Club we used to do a sailing for the blind day, every year. It seemed a strange idea to start with ... they absolutely loved it. One guy, after a day out, asked if he could come racing with us - sat on the aft deck and absorbed everything that was going on even though he was completely blind. I could recommend it to any clubs who like to do this kind of thing - get in touch with a local association and fix something up, it's very worthwhile for all concerned.

I agree.
“Fixing something up” isn’t straightforward however.
Kudos to the rotary clubs for organising kids out. (Insurance, risk asssesments, kids life jackets, kids catering, safety briefing, no show boats, school liaison as a starter for 10) it’s months and months of work.
I was just a turner-upper.

We were not able to help this year, boat was on the hard. We have done several and as another poster said it is a very worthwile experience and can be somewhat humbling.

Top marks to those who were out, plus, of course, the organisers.
