where can i buy my son an automatic life jacket for a reasonable price he is 8 years old .
ijust bought a raider one for my self which only cost £35 but they do not sell them for kids

'Crewsaver' do a junior auto lifejacket at around 80 quid and a manual job for a tenner less. 'Ocean Safety' also do one which is a bit cheaper, about sixty quid I think.
I don't know what size of kid these jackets are suitable for.
'Marine Super Store' at Port Solent used to keep them in stock together with several non-auto kiddies types.

Get the best one you can afford - forgot the cost. Also get one with crotch straps, or buy them as an add on. My short person has a crewsaver with a titchy gas bottle and it is supposed to inflate slightly slower then a grown ups 150n. Cutting the crotch straps (they only seem to come in extra large) hurt but what price safety?

Go left, YOUR OTHER left for pete's sake
(IMHO, BTW, FWIW and NWGOI)

Compass Marine also do kids auto inflate lifejackets one at 49.95 for 6-12 yrs & up to 30Kg and at 69.95 for 20-45Kg - see their website - go to shopping on this ybw site

there was a bit of a campaign in Sweden to stop kids wearing inflatables-up to a certain age
reason being that none of them give 100% reliability an the 'old fashioned ' ones are
obviously more reliable.(if you can persuade the kid to wear them)

Regret that due to laws of supply and demand you will need o pay more for kids life jacket than adult's. Look at it this way, any combined harness/ lifejacket is cheap when it come's to children's safety. get the best and forget the cost.
