Hallo folks,

first time poster here.
We are planning to leave for the Rias Bajas on Saturday next.
Once there we will be joined by our 2 & 4 yr old who are flying out with their granny.
We will be staying onboard for a fortnight before flying home and leaving grandparents to some peace and quiet.
Over the 2 weeks we will probably stick to marinas for convenience, with maybe a couple of nights at anchor.
Would anybody have a recommendation of decent kiddy friendly places for us to visit, ideally with a beach, playground etc close to the marina?

At the moment we are thinking of heading for Pobra de Caraminal in the Ria de Arosa.
Has anybody been to the Cabo de Cruz marina just across the bay from Pobra de Caraminal?
We were also thinking of heading for Sanxenxo, before I read about the late night bars adjacent to the marina.

Thanks for any tips
Ronan

You could try Aquete on the south side of the Ria de Pontevedra just before Marin, small club marina and nice beach.....well it was when I stayed there.Cangas de Morrazo on the north side of the ria de vigo opposite vigo small marina and south facing bay with safe beach about 5mins walk..access to vigo on ferry

Muxia is beautiful. We were there for a month last summer. The marina was free but there was no power or water. There is a beautiful beach right next to the Marina which is shallow so the kids can have fun. There is a easy climb hill that looks all over the town as well. The locals were amazing to us.
In Vigo the club Nautica is in the centre of town, cheap and it includes the use of the swimming pool. You can also travel from there on the bus to Santiago de costello which is stunning.

I spent 2 months there with my (then) 2- and 5yo, they liked:

.Combarro (big marina and *very* nice village), there are stalls selling witch dolls, you clap your hands and the doll moves and shouts, they did that for hours
.Vilagarcia de Arosa: a McDonald with an enormous playground Lego-style where they disappeared, a movie theatre nearby where they saw Ice Age
.the beach at Cies island
.the beach at Rianxo, very gentle slope beach, have a walk picking up clams from the sand (parents eat them as they go)

and plenty of others..

Just back a couple of days after a great holiday, with a rolling downwind sail, plenty sunshine and an overnight trip to Santiago thrown in.
We stayed several nights at Portosin, lovely marina with its own playground which was a big hit, plus a lovely beach only 100m away.
Then onto Pobra de Carminal which on first impressions seemed a bit scruffy looking compared to what it had been described as.
The marina itself is fine but the shore facilities don't seem to have been developed in tandem.
No diesel available there either, directed to Cabo Cruz across the way.
Still a lovely place though and very welcoming people.
Cheers
