Key switch for Beta engine panel

I think I have a faulty key switch on the panel for my Beta 28. One of the terminals is loose. the terminal itself, not the spade connector, and wobbling it produces an intermittent loss of both the rev counter and engine battery volt meter. The stop solenoid is also not working and I'm only getting 6v approx at the terminals. I think that's fed from the key switch too. I was somewhat shocked to be quoted £56 + VAT for a new one plus £13 + VAT for a key by BETA. It looks to me like a pretty standard Lucas-type 4 position switch. Any advice on replacing it with something as bit cheaper than the BETA option gratefully received!

I found that the 'Kubota B Key' from them fits my Beta 16 ignition when I was looking for some spares. Probably be able to find a suitable ignition switch from them too.

With the stop solenoid on my B20hp (BD722) IIRC I have only one termimal and it grounds to the engine.
Check the ground is nice and tight/clean as I had an issue where it would operate intermittently/not at all and it was simply a bad ground.

I got spare keys of FleaBay for about £2 each and posted very quickly - think it was the same outfit as above.

It's fundamentally just a switch. Replace it with anything that will make the appropriate connections and meets your aesthetic requirements. I swapped Kindred Spirit's Yanmar keyhole for a big chunky rotary switch, since the panel was mounted in the cabin and didn't need its own security.

Furneaux Riddall have some key operated ignition switches Check their website to see if that have one that matches yours

Non waterproof ones are only around £12, but waterproof ones are over £50
