If you want to measure your length, try a cribbage board.

Preseason fit out is a work out !

I’ve noticed that jumping from heavy thud thud manly work to fiddling around with a guitar isn’t quite so ‘ hah, take it for granted, dexterity ‘ as it was.. one to keep in top of ?

As a measure, I'd say it's pretty arcane

Well depending upon one's age , it might be a good idea to contact your local NHS Physio department ask for inclusion of their 'Lifestyle' Courses ; these courses are a real boon to us who suffered greately due to the 'lock downs' etc (of late) as we were not able to take our normal activities going during those strange times . These 'lifestyle' courses are really monitored activity excersises , of a light nature , that encourage us to use our little used muscels again , regain balance , activities like , Wobble Boards , Excersise Bike , Soft Floor coverings , Stairs 'up n down' , etc etc ; Evidently us of certain ages were more effected badly by our enforced restrictive life styles that younger persons were ; I have been on this course and it did me a lot of real good/recovery

Do sport they said,
It'll keep you fit they said..

Damaged right big toe (Sailing),
Damaged knees (Volleyball)
Damaged left elbow (Sailing)
Damaged Back (baseball)
Damaged Neck ( car crash)

Now anything physical is painful,
My physical fitness is that kept up by the must do's in the garden.

My sailing is now in my own boat sailed like an International 2.4mR

I used to hate gyms but after few minor injuries it was time to go. Good gym might have good instructors and they will find you some exercise. The important part with the gym is you can train muscles in isolation, and some of them are hard to train otherwise and those might play important role in your wellbeing. What is worth to note, there was a lot of improvements in way of physio and training in the last 10 years. The important part is to start slow and exercise regularly.
