Hello to everyone.
I am presently in the process of removing my keel.I have been removing and reinserting the bolts one by one whilst waiting for new ones to arrive in the post.I have also removed a joint of sikaflex from around the edge which showed that the keel was slightly proud of the hull along one side.I think there was previous repair attempt after a grounding.
The boat is on a trailer with four supports on the hull and the keel on a block of wood. After making a cradle to support the keel would it be possible to maybe jack one end of the boat up an raise the level of the rear supports and then the same again for the front? If this was to work it may not align properly with the bolt holes when lowered?
I will try to remove as much as possible but i am also a little concerned about the old sikaflex joint still holding when the boat is lifted.
The boat is a 26 foot Jeanneau Sangria. It weighs 1.7 tons and the keel 750 kilos.Any advice would be much appreciated.Thank you!
