As per title, has anyone tried this product on old sun damaged gel coat?

About to set about tidying the topsides on my new to me boat. Had lots of useful advice on matching gel coat colour when filling a few dings and scrapes.

However I am aware that polish will only provide temporary protection to the gel surface and have been thinking about clear coatings that might last longer.

This one (KBS Coatings Diamond Finish Clear) looked good but would love to hear some real world experiences.

I could just paint the topsides in black or dark green gloss of course.

Thank you in advance

Steve

Painting grp is IMHO a last resort and should be avoided like the plague, do everything you can to renovate the original gelcoat.
That’s my wife’s view too. But if going down the compound and polish route I was wondering if there is a good long lasting coat of something I can apply afterwards.

I used ceramic having spent a lot of time, effort and materials to get the best possible finish - it was Gtechniq ceramic top (certainly Gtechniq marine). I will use it again on my new-to-me boat when I haul her out and get the polisher out.
I am not sure there is anything better than ceramic. It is expensive but you don't need much and it is excellent.
