I was on holiday in Anglesey last week, and via the forum, Kawasaki very kindly offered me a guided tour of the Menai straits, so we met up last friday at Menai Pier, it having spent all morning bucketing down. By early afternoon it had cleared, so he took me, Duncan (boat owner) and two young American guests of Duncan's on a splendid run up and down the straits...pointing out the rocks and delights of the swellies which can catch raggies like me out.

Kawasaki was recovering from an encounter with hlb the previous evening, and the powerboat in one of the pictures is indeed Haydn leaving the scene heading back to Conwy.

Well a good time was certainly had by me, and I extend my thanks to Kawasaki, and to Duncan for the use of his boat. It was a treat that rounded off my holiday perfectly.

Incidentally the 'eagle' is one put there by Oswald Mosley apparently when he lived at Menai Bridge.

I think you've been had. That's NOT Kawasaki - I repeat NOT Kawasaki. Far too smart & serious looking to be the real thing /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif!

Funny you should turn up, just as we were leaving, wondered who was taking photo's. Did sneak round to the dinghy pontoon, but not sure about water and a bit tight in the current.

MF looks to be masivly under performing in the picture, about 6 knots down and not riding right, no idea why, the revs are there.

Some pictures of the Prince Madog would be nice, our free berth for the night. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
