Hi all, it would appear that the RATS have gone. The pest control company have left some newer type of traps around and since then RATS have not been seen.

The marina has now got laid lines as well as finger pontoons.

The internet/wi-fi will not accept a lot of differing wi-fi sites for instanc if you use Incredimail you will not be able to use it. If you have Gmail.com then it is accessable and usable.

Good bus service to the local market on Th am at 0715 and three return times to marina at 1100, 1300 and 1700.

marina is now filling up with many new arrivals.

Well, it's early days, but already there are at least 7 yachts who have said they will be staying over the winter. Some of them will be making short trips to their respective homes (eg Germany, Switzerland as well as the UK) and I am expecting an exodus over Christmas and New Year.

Some yachts have had no one on board since I arrived at the beginning of July and others have arrived and within a few days been left locked up, so cannot vouch for their plans.

Starting a 'Happy Hour' next Monday in the restaurant from 4 - 7pm. Buy one drink, get next one free. Not sure if it will be every day, but at least it's a start as 330ml Efes was costing 8TL! Price up the road for 500ml Efes is 5TL (and they provide free transport if you go for a meal)

I was also bemoaning the price of the Efes at Karpaz (6tl to inmates) and rose (7tl ) but they did put on a decent draught (Heineken?) at 6.80tl to cruisers. I take back the comments on pricing even for the pool bar at Alanya having now arrived at the very smart new marina in Kas. Pool bar prices are 500ml bottle Efes 15tl and 18tl for a medium to small glass of rose!! 10 and 15tl respectively to berth-holders! Rich when the average price in Kas, just a short walk away is 6tl and the wine 7tl. We even found a place on the triangle with happy hour from 4 - 8pm 4tl for both.

What's the new Marina at Kas like? Are the beer prices a reflection of berthing fees?
