We're planning on going to Kardamena in the next week or two as a couple of people we've met recently reckoned it was pretty good for stocking up etc. Our pilot book is evidently out of date as we gather the port has been modified. Has anyone been there recently? What are the depths like? (we draw 1.95 m) Is there a minitanker? And is it very noisy? Any info gratefully received!

Can't help you with sailing-esque stuff; but when I was on Kos last year- Kardamena, is essentially the "Blackpool" of Kos.

I cycled there from Kefalos; and the first thing I seen was a dutch gob****e, in a superdry T shirt lying in a pool of his own sick. Streets smelt like urine.

If you're up for a wild night out, then I suppose it could be good?

We were there in June this year.well sheltered harbour, plenty depth,no juice or water though.excellent supermarket 5 mins walk from boat.there was no charge when we have been there in the past. Can be noisy nearer the main square, and thepub crawls pass the harbour during the evening .nice hop over to Niseros from there. We have used it several times as a pick up place for friends flying in to Kos.very convenient.

Hi all,

Thanks for all the info, our next jump would be Astypalia, So for one night it looks ok, but a week waiting for a weather window might become a bit annoying in a party town.

liverpool, if I can keep my eyes open for long enough, I might have another look at midnight;)

I forgot to add... There is a filling station 2streets up from the harbour..they don't deliver but if you need fuel take a container and fill up.
