I expect Volvo Paul will be along to answer this point definitively but I think it will need doing on most turbocharged VP engines. I had the same problem on a TAMD74P engine some years ago in Denmark. It cost a fortune to sort out because the Danish engineers were familiar with non turbo engines but not the later higher powered turbos. They tried all the fuel or air restriction routes before I made a call back to the UK and got the tip about the vacuum pipe and switch on the ECU. That was sorted out with a screwdriver and a hair dryer for a few kroner. Unfortunately that was about £800 later! We live and learn.
