I have started this on a new thread after finding out what I think is the problem with the leaking sealed water system on my kad32 on another thread.
The water pump is leaking from the "tell tale" hole in the water pump.
The pump needs to come off and probably replaced but there is not a lot of room around the engine in the engine bay for access.

Has anyone changed one of these pumps and how difficult was it?

What has to be removed from the engine to get to it or does all the exhaust manifold and everything have to be stripped off?

Just to clarify, this is the pump on the sealed coolent side, not the raw water side with impeller.

Thanks again for all your help.

As with any boat engine access Is the key, it's a straightforward job once your drained down of coolant.
What make and model of boat is it?

I was hoping you would see and answer my question volvopaul.
It's a falcon spc 23, there isn't a great amount of room but there is a gap big enough to get things out between the belts on the front of the engine and the fuel tank enclosure but working lyed over the engine reaching down.

What would have to be removed from the engine to get the pump out and a new one in if there is enough room?

Are we talking exhaust manifold and everything off, or is it accessible reaching down to come out from behind the belts?

Thanks for taking the time to answer, it is much appreciated.

I'd be taking the belts off, water pump pulley, bracket at front that supports supercharger, adjuster pulley , drain coolant, hose from water pump to heat exchanger, loosen 2 long bolts that support stat housing to allow slight upwards movement to allow the rubber tube to be refitted , no need to remove exhaust manifold as that's a pain , turbo off etc, so no need to go there. Unbolt 12 mm head bolts on pump, clean up face , use hylomar to stick gasket to block, use new rubber spacer hose, place new pump towards block and make sure spacer is tucked into groove on pump and stat housing, push pump into block, fit bolts. Job done. 2 hours max.

That's brilliant, perfect instructions, hopefully it will be as simple as that when we do it, I just hope it's as easy as it sounds working upside side down in not a lot of space and everything comes off easy!!

Thanks again

Leon will sort it , I had a word this morning

That's great, cheers buddy.

Got a price from keypart this morning, much cheaper than volspec.
Anywhere else you can suggest to get the parts?
