Down the boat to finish off the annual maintenance of the KAD32's with this year being a major service to change all filters including the crankcase breather, engine oil change, fresh water coolant change, compressor oil change, belts, adjust tappets and lastly, the impellers. On the latter, they're stuck solid to the shaft and as I noticed a small drip of water from the rear of the Raw Water pumps, I've taken off the entire pump from both engines to take home and overhaul.

Are there any do's and don'ts with these pumps when performing an overhaul?

thanks Gary

They are quite simple to take apart. I wrote it up once for mbm when I was changing the seals. These are what cause the drips from behind. If the bearings are ok and the shaft us not scored you may get away with just new seals. Buy ones with stainless steel springs. The original Volvo ones had mild steel which is why they don't last long before leaking. If you have back issues of mbm handy I'll see if I can find the issue date.

If the shaft is scored you can sometimes get away with mounting the seal a millimetre or so either way so the new seal runs on smooth shaft.
