Hi ,
I have a pair of KAD300s with DP-G drives.KADs commissioned 2014 new, now with 1700 hrs. DP-Gs new 2020. Starboard KAD300 intermittent fault,surges to over 3,000 rpm while cruising between 1,200 -2,750 rpm,then back to 1,000rpm with EDC red light flashing and 1.7 EDC code.
Re calibrate both main and fly bridge stations. Fitted new Potentiometers, swapped Throttle units, EDC Control pads, same issue intermittent. checked continuity on all cables. Only appears on main helm and when at 1,000rpm safe mode can go to fly, press control key and engine reverts to 610rpm and can operate ok.

Correction,KAD300s are 2004 not 2014.

Have you checked your fuel system could be partial fuel blockage.

Start with Prefilters, check bowls for water and crud or bug then lift filter elements and inspect, could be a partially blocked fuel line.

Tanks are Vetus plastic all new fuel lines,clean filters,white diesel this year,no blockages
Can run for hours then sudden intermittent issue and EDC pad light flashes
Stop and restart,sometimes immediately ok,or wait several minutes for reset after checking Diagnostics.Always same 1.7-re calibrate other control,works ok from upper station.Checking all connections from main helm,no obvious fault so far
