While fitting turbo I damaged my hydraulic steering pump. I very much doubt its a unique part and am asking if it comes off a car, Volvo 240 or similar and if so a part number would be great. Alternatively if there are any refurb workshops that can rebuild them you can recommend. Its the pulley seal thats gone. Probably ruined by a incorectly tightened belt before I got to it .

Try a truck or bus maintenance garage. They are likely to be able to refurb the pump, and will have the tools to do so. If it is a dodgy seal, these will be stock items, and just need the right tools to dismantle and rebuild.

Its a punt but genuine gets bandied about and warranty. Last stock but even so you have a plethora of them for about 140 and genuine used sub 50. As its not integral to the engine and whatever else its considered a critical safety device on a car Im not particularly bothered if its genuine or not. Unlike a car steering assist is not critical at all on my boat. Just makes life a little easier.
