Hi, changed my belts yesterday but the bolt for the tensioner is really rusty and was very difficult to loosen the nut.
What sort of job is it to replace these bolts?
Also best place to get them?
Thanks

Thank you, it is actually this view and I need to replace part number 7? is this a big job as it looks like I have to remove the assembly plate to get bolt out ?

Would it be just as effective to wire brush it all, soak in penetrating oil, then remove the nuts, pulley etc and just give it all a good wire brushing again and grease the thread, run the nut up and down a few times. Put it back together and paint it.

I have managed to do this for one of them but the other one is so badly rusted I need to change it ?

Wow- any idea why it is so rusty?

There are a lot of bits around the engine that are rusty so think water has sat in there at some point, it is a bad design how the engine cover fits so expect it sat outside one winter without a cover. Also no drain plugs in these?

Def should not be so much rust, is there likely to be more trouble ?
oil pan at the bottom
alternator etc
tidy It up and sell it ?
Blimey Simon, talk about pessimist!

As others have said, this is an area prone to a little salt water spray due to leaking waterpumps. No need to condem the whole boat and sell it!
