Kad 42 engine seacocks

Hi everyone am after a little help, I recently brought a 1992 Sunseeker San Remo 35 and am trying to locate the location of the seacocks for the Kad 42 engines. Can anyone who owns one of these boats or similar type with the same engines point me in the right direction please? I've had a good look in the engine bay and cannot see anything looking like them. I have followed the water pipes back from the impellers but it disappears under the engine blocks. I'm conscious that if I have to replace the impellers or have a major leak in the engine bay then the seacocks are the first port of call to close.

If it's on legs then there are no sea cocks (same with KAD44, KAD300, etc). Impellers are above waterline (please check though!).

I put this issue in my list of "non worry items".

Hi Petem by legs do you mean outdrives? If so then yes she has outdrives. But I would still like to know where the seacocks are so I can stop water ingress if I need to.

The KAD42 engine on outdrives does not have sea cocks for the cooling system.

You will likely have seacocks for black water, generator raw water cooling and AC thru-hull, possibly for deck drainage just above the waterline on transom under the swim platform.

Ahh ok thats why I could not find them! Thanks for the answer to that BruceK. Next time I am on the boat I'll look around that area to see the ones your on about.

Also seacock inlet and an outlet for the toilet.

When the boat boat is out of the water it’s agood idea to draw a diagram of every seacock, navaid sounder etc, cooler plate etc is under the water and get to know how to get to them all When afloat from the inside.

You should be able to follow the pipes from the raw water pumps right the way aft to transom assembly.
The salt water is drawn via slots below the cavitation plate up internally through the outdrive leg to water outlet.
The external hose (No 6) will require changing at regular intervals, bellows usually every two years.
Internal hoses seem to last for ever.
